Recently some forum threads have come up about how the current draw on a strobe is different than a string of lights, the electrical noise it generates, and how it can have an effect on LOR. Lets start with a simple example of a string of incandescent lights:

Finally, we have at least 95% of our display set up. There are some fence elements that have not been built, and will probably not get lights installed, even if they get built. The wreath has not been hung on the front door yet, but it will, and those snowflakes that were supposed to be part of the 2007 show? 4 of them are up and running. 1 is waiting for a new power cord. 1 is ready to have lights installed, 2 need some flaws sanded off, and two coats of paint. Power cords need to be installed on the lights for those last three. We will see how much (if any) of that gets taken care of before lights come down. If I get them done, what will I talk about next year as something left over from the first year?
As for the sequences, so far, only one of them is well arranged for the current layout, and while it is not quite complete yet, TSO Christmas Eve Sarajevo is the sequence you need to see. The rest will get a fast update, then some more rework as the days go by. |

We are now up and partially running. We still have some technical issues, and a lot of items that are not hooked up, but we are making progress. The mini trees are up and running. The half mega tree is in good shape, but there are still a lot of net lights to hook up. Some of the border snowflakes are up and running. The pathway luminaries are out, but I am having some issues with cords that were there from Halloween that reach the items, but not the controllers that power them. And now they are so buried that they are not easy to shift around.
Separately, most of the sequences that are running are not well adapted to the current lighting layout. I hope to have a couple of new ones that fit better up in a few days. |

This year, we have decided that our personal show will accept donations for The American Fallen Soldiers Project. We encourage you to visit their web site, or arrange to visit their gallery. We really appreciate that someone is making this effort for the families of soldiers who have paid the ultimate price in service of our country. |

We still are not running, but we are closer! We have our over night lighting up and running, which is part of the display. All the C9 lights around the windows are up. Four of the snowflakes on the house are up, and more about those will follow. The Texas Star is up and running in the over night show. The half mega tree strands are all up, but not wired yet. And some of the netlights in the shrubs are there. So basically, all the time consuming ladder work is done, and 2 person job of raising the half mega tree strands. So now I can run cords for the half mega tree, and all the mini trees without help. Look for that to be up and running in a few days at most. I'll still need extra hands putting the net lights on the shrubs, but that should go faster than much of what has been done so far.
